How to Find a Job in Northern Cyprus

Job hunting in Northern Cyprus starts with knowing the right channels and the right order. This guide covers the steps from finding a listing to starting the role.

1. Decide what you are looking for

Before you apply, decide which role you want, in which district and under which working arrangement. Northern Cyprus has six districts: Nicosia (Lefkoşa), Famagusta (Mağusa), Kyrenia (Girne), Morphou (Güzelyurt), Trikomo (İskele) and Lefka (Lefke). Given the island's travel distances, the district matters as much as the salary.

The working arrangement matters too: on-site, hybrid or remote. Tourism and hospitality are mostly on-site, while software, design and digital marketing roles more often allow remote work.

  • Job title (e.g. accountant, sales representative, software developer)
  • Preferred district and how you would commute
  • Employment type: full-time, part-time, contract, temporary, internship, freelance
  • Working arrangement: on-site, hybrid, remote

2. Filter the listings properly

On the job board you can type a role or company into the search box, then narrow it with the district, employment-type and workplace filters. Used together, they turn a long list into the handful of roles that actually fit.

Every district has its own page — jobs in Nicosia, jobs in Kyrenia and so on — and each employment type does too: full-time, part-time, internship and freelance.

3. Prepare your application

Most employers in Northern Cyprus expect a CV in Turkish; international companies also accept English. Having both versions ready is an advantage.

State your experience, education and skills clearly. Highlight the items that match the requirements in the listing. Prefer short, measurable statements over long, decorative sentences.

  • Contact details (email and phone)
  • A short professional summary
  • Work experience, most recent first
  • Education
  • Skills and any certifications
  • Languages and proficiency levels

4. Apply and follow up

When you apply through the platform, your application reaches the employer who posted the role. You can track your applications from your candidate dashboard: which role you applied to, what stage your application is at, and whether the employer has viewed it.

If you choose to share your contact details, the employer can reach you directly by email. Your email address must be verified to use that option.

5. Interview and hiring

When you are invited to an interview, re-read the listing and look into the employer's field of work. Interviews in Northern Cyprus are usually face-to-face at the workplace; some roles start with a phone or video call.

Use the conversation to settle salary, working hours, leave and any probation period. Getting the terms in writing prevents disputes later.

6. Be patient and apply consistently

Job hunting takes time. Check for new listings every week and apply to every role that fits. Applying to several suitable listings in the same week gives you a better chance than pinning everything on one.

Rejection is normal and is not a judgement of you. Asking for feedback strengthens your next application.
